Effective Giving profiles projects that have relationship with the Centre for Social Justice, the poverty-fighting think tank chaired by Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP. These organisations have core values that inform their work, dedicated staff and effective results.
The Centre for Social Justice team have visited each of the Projects listed on this site, reviewed annual reports and audited accounts, met beneficiaries of the services, and are in an on-going relationship with each Project that through sheer ‘get up and go’ are seeing changed lives.
We are proud to endorse their work.
Why Effective Giving?
As with any start-up enterprise, small, growing and effective poverty fighting organisations are putting most of their energy into transforming people’s lives and developing the organisational capacity to keep doing so.
When voluntary teams are working round the clock to help people to help themselves, and taking responsibility to grow stable organisations, there’s often little time to develop relationship with donors.
Further, at Effective Giving, we believe the dynamic motivation that sparked the launch of an organisation doesn’t often fit a grant making trust application or state funding criteria. Organisations can be forced to either apply for funding at the expense of their core values, or to go under.
Who to give to?
Whether an individual, a corporation, grant making trust, philanthropist, or faith-community, we would invite you to search our website for an organisation dealing with an issue you may have particular sympathy for.
You are able to get in touch with any of the charitable organisations listed here directly using the contact details provided.
Alternatively, if you would like to give through Effective Giving we are able to distribute funds at your direction.
Make a donation to the work of the Centre for Social Justice.
